Kumble bagged 5 Wikets - Australia 337-9
Indian captain Anil Kumble toppled the mighty Australians with a five wicket haul.
First day of the tour opener at Melbourne Cricket Ground, Australians were 337 for 9, with Matthew Hayden scored his 28th century - 19th in Australia and opener Phil Jaques 66.
Australians were 111/0, legspinnerKumble made his breakthrough in the 34th over when he had Jaques stumped by wicketkeeper Mahendra Dhoni. Jaques' 108-ball knock featured eight boundaries.
Indian pace ace Zaheer Khan sent century maker Hayden when he looked strong at 124, and finished his tally 22-1-83-2.
Earlier Australia captain Ricky Ponting has won the toss and elected to bat.
